The Giant Pacific Octopus is the world's largest octopus. The largest one found weighed 71 kg and was 14 feet long. Some say they seen an octopus 30 feet long. This cephalopod is so large it can kill a full-grown shark. In the Seattle Aquarium, a Giant Pacific Octopus was put into a shark tank. Every so often, though, shark carcasses were found at the bottom of the tank. Then, someone stayed at night and filmed the octopus killing one of sharks and bringing the carcass to its cave. However, the Giant Pacific Octopus is also a caring mother. She will actually sacrifice her own life to protect her eggs. While she is protecting her eggs, she will not leave her cave and she will not eat. When her 100,000 eggs finally hatch, she then dies.
