The American Crocodile is one of the 2 species of crocodilians native to North America. The other native species is the American Alligator. These 2 crocodilians live in the same area and that area is the only place where you can see both crocodiles and alligators living side by side. When someone sees an American Crocodile and an American Alligator for the first time, they often mistake the 2 for each other. But the 2 are really easy to tell apart once you get to know about them. The easiest way is to look at their snouts. While the crocodile has a skinny snout, the alligator has a wide snout.
